Carmen Guzmán (1925-2012) holds a cherished place in Argentina’s musical heritage. Her evocative guitar works, poetry, and deep connection to folk traditions bridges the classical and the popular, the intimate and the universal. Though she was admired in her lifetime, many of her compositions - particularly her unpublished works - remain unjustly hidden from the global stage: until now.

The recording took place in October 2025, over the exact date of Guzmán's centenary and features world premiere recordings of unpublished guitar works. This recording project is the first fully dedicated to the guitar works of Guzmán and will promote wider engagement with music by Latin American women composers, supporting repertoire diversification and gender inclusivity in the guitar canon and wider classical repertoire, and will restore Guzmán's music to the living repertoire where it belongs.
