After receiving some lovely photos from a concert in March, I thought it would be a good time to share them with you and write another blog post about the last two concerts I gave.
On 28th March, I had the pleasure of playing with the Woodside String Quartet at the Angel Field Festival in Liverpool. Our concert - Musica Argentina - included music by Piazzolla (arranged by Giorgio Mirto and Lorenzo Turchi-Floris) and Claudia Montero. It was a very exciting concert for us as we gave the UK premiere of Montero's guitar concerto Luces y Sombras (arr. for guitar and string quartet by Claudia). It is such a deeply moving and beautiful piece of music and I'm so happy to announce that we will be playing it again soon!
Earlier this year, I was invited, once again, to be the guest soloist with Wirral Community Choir. This concert took place at the Life Church in Bebington in April and was a special concert for the choir as it was the last performance under the direction of Stephen as their Musical Director. I played a programme of South American music:
Azul from Tres Colores Porteños - C. Monetero
Vals No. 1 & No. 5 - C. Guzman
Tango en Skaï - R. Dyens
Natalia (Valse Venezolano No. 3) - A. Lauro
Felicidade - A. C. Jobim/arr, R. Dyens
It was a pleasure to be part of such a lovely concert and it was a joy to listen to the fabulous choir!
As I mentioned previously, myself and the Woodside String Quartet are giving another performance of Musica Argentina at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum on 24th May. You can book tickets now through the Events/ section of my website or via this direct link. All profits from this concert are going towards my fundraising for the Masters in Spain. (If you can't make the concert but would still like to support here is the link to my Crowdfunding page. Anything you can spare would be appreciated!)
I'm also planning on doing a few solo gigs to raise funds so keep your eye out on the Events/ page.
Thanks for reading and best wishes,
